“ I LOVE this place. I've come here for brunch like 3 times and lunch/ dinner another 3 times. It's AMAZING. Everything from the starters, main corse and especially dessert. The decoration is perfect in a beautiful window filled restaurant. I look forward to coming back Best meal - mole enchiladas I will share pictures next time ”
“ I absolutely love me some Zocalo in midtown Sacramento! The vibes and ambience are jumping and cool! Great place for happy hour and celebrating a birthday or date night. The restaurant is always decorated so nicely for every holiday. For Valentine's Day they had the most beautiful huge hearts throughout the restaurant. The staff is friendly and very accommodating and we got seated quickly without a reservation. The food is yummy and their salsas are delicious. Their green rice is so good and their beans are creamy and flavorful. They have really large TV's to watch the Sacramento Kings and broadcast most sports for your viewing pleasure. They have parking available near the restaurant. They also have a big room in the back for any large party or political gatherings. ”
“ My friends and I stopped by Zócalo on Presidents' Day for a late lunch. Since it was a holiday, the restaurant seemed to be a little short-staffed. Despite there being many empty tables both inside and outdoors on the patio, we ended up having to wait 10 minutes or so before we were seated. While waters and menus were brought over promptly, it was roughly 20 minutes later before our server stopped by to take our order. Slow service unfortunately was the theme of our meal. For example, after we had finished our meal, it took around 30 minutes for our waiter to stop by to take our dessert order. This is a bit disappointing because the food here is really quite good. One unique thing about Zócalo that I haven't encountered at any other Mexican restaurant is the table chips are served with a black bean dip -- in addition to the standard salsa. The black beans topped with cojita cheese was a nice, unexpectedly dip to enjoy with the chips right after we sat down. For our entrees, my wife ordered the Zóca quesadilla while I ordered the mole enchiladas. Both entrees came with a side of black beans and cilantro-lime rice. I really enjoyed the depth of flavor in the mole: earthy, sweet, smoky, and spicy. The shredded chicken filling of the enchiladas was also very tender. Although the cilantro lime rice is descriptively the same as the rice you can get from Chipotle, the rice here is ten times better. The texture and flavor is better in every aspect. Last but not least, the desserts here are delicious. We tried the flan and the churros with ice cream and both desserts were half-eaten before I could even snap a photo. I would definitely recommend coming as a group so you're able to try out more than one dessert. Overall, if I'm in Sacramento and I'm craving fancy-ish Mexican food alongside with solid cocktails served by the pitcher, I would stop by Zócalo again. Hopefully service is better my next visit. ”
“ I wish I could pack this restaurant up and bring it to my hometown because it truly is one of the best mexican restaurants I've ever been to. The service is always great and I love the ambience indoors. The fish tacos are to die for and I 100% mean that!!! I never finish my food but I devoured all three of them. They don't skimp out on the fish and it's extremely flakey and flavorful. The sauce on top pairs perfectly with it as well. I can't wait to come back! ”
“ Zócalo is a fun restaurant to eat at with friends and family. The dinner ambiance is really lively. The seating is plentiful, staff is extremely friendly and drinks are delicious. We ordered a pitcher of the blueberry margarita and it was a great decision. Their food is unfortunately the weakest part of the experience here. If you're coming for authentic Mexican food this is definitely not where I would come. Everything we tried was good, but not amazing for such a popular establishment. I would recommend the flautas as an appetizer. We also got the enchiladas Rojas and tacos de hongos. Both were good vegetarian options but not completely satisfying as someone who loves Mexican food. ”
“ Zocalos is a very homy and welcoming spot. Amazing service, and food was amazing. Very customizable and accommodating to all. Overall an amazing vibe. Also, had a very large group, but food still came out quickly but still fresh and hot. ”
“ Zócalos is one of the higher end Mexican spots in downtown Sacramento. It's not cheap but you're getting high quality food for the price. The experience here is always classy yet trendy. Service is some of the best in town. Beautiful decor all around this restaurant. I've been coming here for a few years as it's located near my fiancées work and she loves their food. We usually order off the regular menu but this time we happened to stop in as their happy hour was beginning. There's plenty of deals to be had using the happy hour menu and you get a great idea of what their food is about! Personal favorites were the Baja fish tacos, the camarón tacos and the grilled chicken salad. I was excited to try the flautas. Filled with potatoes and large in size they didn't look like flautas. Inside the potatoes were a bit mushy. They would better if they were smaller but with chunkier potatoes instead of so mashed. Wont hold it against them as the rest of our food hit the spot. Zocalo's will impress anyone. Whether catching up with an old friend, date night or lunch with your fiancée on her work break I highly suggest making a trip here. ”
“ Zócalo's is going above and beyond and I'm here for it! I've been to the Midtown location for several occasions, including work parties and birthday celebrations, and I recently walked in for a causal weekend lunch. Service was exceptional from start to finish. The host was very attentive, and he brought out complimentary chips with salsa and bean dip to start. Our server was also attentive and took good care of us, starting with a pitcher of blackberry margarita and checking in to top us off. The host offered to refresh our chips and dips and apologized for the wait, even though our table would argue that there wasn't one at all. Our food came out quickly, and I highly recommend the enchiladas en mole. The mole is delectable and I love enjoying chocolate in a savory way. The enchiladas are packed with chicken, and they're very filling. If you're planning to order drinks, a pitcher may be a little over the top for a table of two but worth it if you plan to share among friends. I'm looking forward to coming back! ”
“ We celebrated Valentine's Day 2024 at Zocalo and opted for the course meals for dinner. The price was really good, and I definitely think it was worth it! While the service wasn't the fastest, it was understandable given how busy it was that night. The atmosphere is really nice, and the wait time was reasonable. Overall, I had a great time with my boyfriend, and I would recommend Zocalo for a special occasion! ”
“ Adorable restaurant. Good for big groups too. The booths are a bit small for more than two people but there are plenty of tables. nice service, good food, clean restrooms. I recommend the breakfast bowl. But the French toast was a hit at our table as well. Overall, great place to get brunch with the girls! ”
